The existence of heavy rail is a popular presence in the steel product market today, the rail is a popular presence, the heavy rail is a typical model of the rail, for the specific drop hammer test of the heavy rail, I have summarized the following for you.

1.      The test machine shall be subjected to metrological verification and calibration. Set the drop weight according to the heavy rail type and welding method.

2.      The length of the test piece should be greater than 1.2m, the test piece should be placed on the support with a span of 1m, the weld of the welded joint should be at the center of the span, and the rail temperature should be 0°C~40°C.

3.      The operator should be away from the danger zone, and the operator should start the test machine according to the regulations and carry out the drop weight test on the test piece.

4.      After each hammering, check the fracture of the test piece and measure the residual deflection of the test piece.

5.      After the test piece is subjected to the specified number of hammering times, no breakage is passed.

6.      For welded joint specimens that have not been broken after the specified number of hammer strokes, the joints shall be slashed at the bottom corners of the weld rails, and hammering shall continue to break them for analysis of fractures.
