ZongXiang export 500 sets 29U Steel Arch to Colombia

Henan ZongXiang Heavy Industry Import & Export Co., Ltd., a prominent Chinese manufacturer and exporter of railway materials, has recently completed a significant export of 20 tons of 22kg/m light steel rails to Indonesia. This shipment underscores the company's growing presence in Southeast Asia's infrastructure sector and highlights the increasing demand for high-quality, lightweight rails in emerging markets.

Founded in 1997 as a subsidiary of Zhongxiang Steel Group, ZongXiang specializes in producing and supplying a wide range of steel rails, including light rails (8kg/m to 30kg/m), heavy rails, crane rails, and accessories like fishplates, clips, and clamps. With over 25 years of experience, the company has exported to more than 50 countries, focusing on mining, industrial, and railway applications. Their products meet international standards such as GB, JIS, DIN, and ASTM, ensuring durability, wear resistance, and reliability.

The 22kg/m steel rail, also known as P22 or equivalent to JIS 22kg, is a popular light rail variant with a nominal weight of 22.3 kg per meter. It features a head width of approximately 50.8mm, height of 93mm, and base width of 93mm. Made from high-quality materials like Q235 or 55Q steel, it offers excellent tensile strength, hardness, and corrosion resistance. Light rails like this require fewer tests than heavy rails but are rigorously checked for chemical composition, tensile strength, and drop weight impact.

These rails are ideal for temporary transport lines in mining areas, factories, construction sites, and low-load crane tracks. They support 5-10 ton traffic loads, making them cost-effective alternatives to heavier options while providing stability and ease of installation.

Indonesia's archipelago geography and booming mining sector—particularly coal and nickel extraction—drive demand for robust yet lightweight rail systems. The country is investing in internal haulage networks, urban light rails, and industrial tracks to improve logistics efficiency amid rapid urbanization and economic growth. ZongXiang's export aligns with these needs, as 22kg/m rails are suited for secondary lines, industrial sidings, and mining operations where heavy-duty rails would be overkill.

Previous exports by ZongXiang to Indonesia include 12kg/m and 15kg/m light rails, as well as crane rails like DIN A100 (50 tons). This 20-ton shipment of 22kg/m rails continues the trend, likely bundled in standard 6-12 meter lengths, secured for sea transport, and cleared through ports like Tanjung Priok.

The successful delivery involved thorough quality controls, including ultrasonic testing and mill certificates, coordinated logistics for customs compliance, and anti-corrosion packaging. This deal strengthens ZongXiang's foothold in Indonesia, supporting sustainable infrastructure and bilateral trade. As Southeast Asia's railway and mining projects expand, such exports are poised to grow, contributing to efficient transportation and economic development.
