Why need lubricate steel rail?

Train locomotives are widely used in railways, large industrial and mining enterprises. And because of heavy load or high speed, the wear between the hub and the track is serious, resulting in regular replacement of wheels and rails. The lubrication of the wheel hub is common with solid lubrication and oil injection lubrication, but the effect is not good. The new railway locomotive lubrication system adopts the method of applying grease to the wheel hub, and adopts different application amounts for straights and curves, so that the wheels are better lubricated, and at the same time control the pollution of excess grease to the environment. The railway locomotive lubrication system also lubricates pins and bearings on locomotives other than wheels.

What is Steel rail lubrication systems?

A lubrication system mounted on a railroad locomotive for applying a lubricant to a rail. The system is comprised of a manifold that defines a generally endless, closed lubricant path. A pump is provided to continuously convey a lubricant path. A dispensing nozzle is mounted to the locomotive above each rail for directing the lubricant onto each rail. A metering device is associated with each dispensing nozzle. Each metering device is connected to the manifold and an associated nozzle for diverting a metered amount of the lubricant from the lubricant path to the associated nozzle.
