The function of rail bender is to bend the rail. Rail bender can be used for straightening and bending rails. According to working principle, it can be divided into manual rail bender and hydraulic rial bender.

Manual rail bender can straighten and bend light steel rails in horizontal level. Advantage: it can straighten or bend rail in one time.

Disadvantage: it needs big force, needs 2 to 3 person to operate it.

Straighten or bend rails of 8kg/m, 12kg/m, 15kg/m, 18kg/m, 22kg/m, 24kg/m and 30kg/m.

There are some notes you should pay attention to:

Always wear PPE

1. Lay sleepers at correct spacing

2. Lay only the inside rail on sleepers

3. Fasten rail to previous rail with fish plates and bolts.

4. Always bend the inside rail first.

5. Determine where rail bender should start and place rail bender on rail. This should not be closer than 500mm from the end of the rial

6. Make a mark on the rail both side of the rail bender.

7. Pump up until the piston of the rail bender is against the rail, and then pump 10 stocks.

8. Release the pressure and move rail bender so that the centre of the rail bender is on the mark on the rail.

9. Make a new mark on the rail.

Repeat points 5,6 and 7, up to where the bend should stop. This should not be closer than 500mm from the end of the rail.

If at this stage the bend is not enough, repeat from point 3 until rail bender is correct.

10. Fasten rail to next rail with fish plate and bolts.

11. Install sleepers on the inside rail and correct spacing.

12. Repeat the whole procedure on the outside rail. Ensure that the rail gauge is maintained.

13. Connect the sleepers to the outside rail. Retention the bolts on joints.
