Rail products exist in the typical steel market today, therefore, the emergence of heavy rails provides support for rich rail products, the surface burn prevention techniques for specific flah joints of heavy rails are summarized as follows.

1?  The rust and decontamination of the contact points between the heavy rail and the electrode must strictly meet the specified standards, so that the contact surface is smooth and the metallic luster is exposed.

2?  During the welding operation, the cleaning and inspection procedures of the contact surfaces before the heavy rail clamping are strictly performed to prevent the welding slag or foreign matter from falling into the contact surface.

3?  Always check the surface of the electrode for slag inclusion, and the embedded slag or foreign matter should be removed in time. Replace worn or poorly surfaced electrodes in time.

4?  Heavy rail gringing should avoid excessive feed, and the surface should not be blue.

5?  When the electrode is equipped with an “ electrode cover”, good electrical contact between the electrode, the cover and the heavy rail should be ensured.
